My name is Kim. I am a wife, mom, granny nanny, and a Blogger! And I just became a Mary Kay Consultant!! But first, let me share with you my story of Susie Pea’s and how she came to life. So here she is, Meet Susie Pea!
A Little More About Me
I am 53 and loving it! I always say that my 40’s were better than my 30’s because they brought son-in-laws and grandbabies into my life. My 30’s were way better than my 20’s because I had finally figured out how to be a great momma and balance it all. Work, family, home. It got easier in my 30’s. And then, of course, my 20’s rocked because I became an adult. (18 is NOT an adult!) I am married to the craziest, most fun guy. We bought a house and had 3 beautiful children. With each decade getting better and better, I knew my 50’s were going to be the greatest.
Jason
I already told you how great my hubby, let’s call him Jason, is. He is one of those guys that can come up with one liners in a split second. The guy that makes you spit your soda across the room. That’s him! We have been married for 32 years. I truly love growing old with him.
Boo, Leelou & Jaybird
Brooke, or Boo (short for Boobhead – why we did that, I don’t know) is a Kindergarten teacher that has now become a SAHM of her 4 beautiful littles, 2 boys and 2 girls. And might I brag that she is AMAZING at it. She also has her own cake business. Check her out @brookiecakes.blogspot.com. You will get to learn all about her crazy life soon. She is going to be a guest blogger on Susie Pea’s.
My middle child is Becki. In future blogs you will know her by Leelou. This one never stops! Ever since she was a little girl it has been go, go, go. (Her youngest one is exactly the same so she is getting a taste of it now.) She has 2 handsome little guys and has embraced being a mommy of boys. Any of you that have just boys know that her day is full of dirt and burps! She works full time and still keeps up with everything. I am so proud of her! You will get to learn more about her soon. She is guest blogging in April and I know will have tons of tips for you working mommas.
And last but not least, my baby Jason Jr. Jaybird is an IT expert and has a degree in Computer Science. I am definitely not a computer wiz so having him around is a blessing for this new hobby of mine. Jay will be sharing blogs on urban fashion and music. Be looking for his posts this summer!
Susie Ponchez
So growing up in this crazy family, Jason the joker would always tease the kids about bringing their friend ”Susie Ponchez” along with us wherever we would go. Vacations – Susie Ponchez got to go. Trips to Gram’s – Susie P. was there. Jason would constantly jest, “while you were gone, me and mom took Susie to Six Flags”. She goes everywhere with us, even today.
She is one of the many inside jokes that Jason and I have with Boo, Leelou, and Jaybird. My children have grown up with her.
Because of all the great moments that Susie has shared with us, I couldn’t think of a better pen name for myself than hers. She keeps us close when we are each heading in our own directions, raising our own families, and living out our own dreams.
We have always refered to ourselves as ‘The Five’. Now that I am thinking about it, should we say ‘The Six’? – Susie Pea.
